What is carbon neutrality?

Carbon neutrality refers to a series of policies such as using renewable energy and save-energy facilities to reduce carbon emissions, and at the finally via Carbon Offsets to purchase the amount of carbon emissions that is unable to reduce to achieve a net zero greenhouse gas emissions and aims to prevent the global warming.
Because the greenhouse gas emissions are inevitable in daily life, Carbon Offsets is still the way to achieve the net zero emissions. This is to say that greenhouse gas emissions produced by personal or organizations activities such as daily life behave, travel by airplane or office work are counted and paid to Carbon Offsets service business companies or non-profit organizations. These service business companies or organizations directly or indirectly promote the carbon reduction program to cover consumers’ carbon emissions reduction or offsets.

Environmental Protection Policy

★For energy conservation and environmental protection, participants are requested to bring their own cutleries and water bottle.
★In response to energy conservation and carbon reduction, exhibitors are suggested to provide less printed promotional materials and properly recycle resources for environmental protection.
★In order to reduce the environmental impact of the event, the event was introduced into the “Green MICE Guidelines” of the MEET TAIWAN Program of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs to implement energy conservation and carbon reduction and create a sustainable environment.

為降低會展活動對環境造成的影響，主辦單位導入經濟部國際貿易局臺灣會展產業發展計畫之「綠色會展指南」，以落實節能減碳、創造永續環境。

活動背景//Background

關於
  • PPSEAWA在國際婦女領域以及在聯合國重要組織及其活動扮演積極角色，並擁有重要影響力，是台灣推動國際交流的重要平台。現任陳淑珠理事長自2013年7月接任PPSEAWA中華民國分會(以下簡稱PPSEAWA台灣)理事長以來，不僅關注、促進婦女權益的提升、性別平權的落實，同時也非常重視PPSEAWA台灣的國際連結，大力推動｢以國際交流促進國民外交｣的理念，多年來帶領PPSEAWA台灣積極參與PPSEAWA總會的重要活動，並且促成PPSEAWA會員國多次來台進行與婦女權益、環境保護、社區關懷等議題的實質交流，大幅提升PPSEAWA台灣的國際地位。透過積極的參與與承擔，PPSEAWA台灣希冀貢獻台灣社會，並成為一個推動台灣婦女國際交流與落實性別平權的永續發展平台。
  • 鑒於台灣及PPSEAWA部分會員國正式邁入高齡社會，人口結構的改變對婦女、家庭、企業、就業及整個國家的醫療體系帶來眾多挑戰，PPSEAWA多數會員國是面臨快速老化的一級戰區，本會將2019國際年會主題訂為「Life’s Journey to Wellbeing」，透過性別平等、教育、和平、建立友誼以促進所有年齡層的福祉，活得老的同時也希望活得好，除了政府政策的協助，我們更應培養健康的身體、吸取廣泛的知識，來提升自身的資本。
  • 本次年會除了內部會議外特別規劃共三場論壇，針對本次主題，細分為下列兩子題：Promote lifelong Well Habits以及Share Best Practices for Financial Literacy and Well-being throughout a women’s life course，邀請各國代表於論壇一及二分享各國觀點及現況，包括：美國、加拿大、庫克群島、斐濟、印度、印尼、日本、韓國、馬來西亞、澳洲、紐西蘭、巴基斯坦、薩摩亞、泰國、東加等，藉此機會以民間國際交流發展國民外交，利用非營利組織平台資源，強化多邊的交流以深化彼此夥伴關係。本會亦將邀請各界產官學專家針對本次年會主題進行第三場綜合論壇。
  • 不同年齡層對於各國分會亦將選派其青年代表參加本次年會，本會特為其規劃青年活動，對本次年會進行分享交流，本會除了派青年代表參加外，本次年會志工亦可以參與活動，國際交流活動不僅能增加學術知能，更能促進我與該地區青年相互認識彼此文化，深化泛太平洋友邦青年對我國之瞭解與友誼，厚植友我人脈、增進雙向各層面交流。

關於PPSEAWA// About PPSEAWA

1928年於夏威夷檀香山，一群關注國際的婦女希望通過理解和友誼促進和平，召集建立泛太平洋婦女協會。1955年，為更準確地反映該組織不斷擴大的領域，改名為泛太平洋暨東南亞婦女協會。

在第一次國際會議中，主要是針對泛太平洋地區婦女和兒童所面臨的國家問題進行經驗交流。 自1930年以來，大約每三年舉行一次國際會議，婦女將聚集在一起，進行有關女性、家庭、促進和平的會議、講座、工作坊和文化方案。

In 1928, in Honolulu, a group of women with international concerns, hoping to promote peace through understanding and friendship, convened to establish the Pan Pacific Women’s Association. In 1955, the name was changed to Pan Pacific and Southeast Asia Women’s Association to more accurately reflect the organisation’s expanding area of interest.

At this first International Conference the primary focus was the exchange of  experiences relating to national problem areas for women and children in and around the Pacific. Since 1930, international conferences have been held approximately every three years, bringing women together for meetings, lectures, workshops, and cultural programmes concerned with women, families and the promotion of peaceful lives for all.

Welcome to the 27th PPSEAWA International Conference. PPSEAWA Taiwan is honored and privileged to host this triennial Conference for the first time.  Over the past 90 plus years, under the leadership of International Presidents and Councils, PPSEAWA has grown into a globally renowned NGO.  With outstanding works done by each National Member Organization, PPSEAWA has contributed significantly to the sustainable development goals.

International Conference has always been an important event to us. It’s a great occasion for members to gather together to discuss issues of mutual concerns, improve status of women and children, and plan for the future. This time is no exception, our theme “Life’s Journey to Wellbeing” is especially relevant today.  While we benefit from modern medicine and better living environment, we need to promote lifelong wellness habits and empower economically through a women’s life course.  Through this Conference, not only will we upheld our missions, we will also have the opportunity to shape a new vision for the global community and to renew our friendships with our sisters around the world.

Conference and workshops aside, I hope you will have the chance to explore areas of Taiwan.  I believe our beautiful scenery, world-renowned cuisine, and friendly people, altogether will leave you with wonderful memories. Lastly, but not the least, we want to express our appreciation to the executive committee, for their guidance and support. 歡迎各位PPSEAWA姐妹們前來參加第27屆PPSEAWA國際會議！淑珠謹代表PPSEAWA中華民國分會(以下簡稱PPSEAWA 台灣)誠摯歡迎各位到來。 台灣很榮幸有機會舉辦三年一次的國際年會，更是 90年來第一次在台灣舉行，全體姊妹們同感榮耀，並全力以赴籌辦此次年會！

過去90多年來，在國際總會及理事會所有成員的卓越領導下，PPSEAWA成為全球頂尖的國際非政府組織，在紐約與日內瓦聯合國總部派有代表長駐，參與各項社經委員會會議，提供諮詢意見，以供聯合國決議案之參考，深受各國政經首長的重視；而在各會員國的共同努力下，PPSEAWA為聯合國「永續發展目標」(SDGs)的達成，做出了重大貢獻。身為PPSEAWA大家庭的一份子，深感榮耀與振奮！

促成國際年會在台舉辦，一直是PPSEAWA中華民國分會持續努力的目標。透過年會的主辦，所有PPSEAWA姊妹們得以相聚一堂，討論共同關心的議題，進而提昇全球婦女及兒童之權益保障，並為所有女性規劃永續璀燦的未來。2019年會的主題為「Life’s Journey to Wellbeing，生命的幸福之旅」。二十一世紀新女性雖受益於現代醫學發達，整體物質環境提升，而享有更優質的生活。但在整個女性生命歷程中，我們仍須努力建立良好的生活習慣，和獨立的經濟能力，以迎向幸福人生。期盼透過本次會議討論，繼續堅持我們的任務與使命，並為全球婦女權益擘畫一個嶄新的未來！藉由未來幾天會議的討論與交流，將更加深來自全球各地姐妹們的情誼。
